2008 Silver Proof Set

The 2008 United States Silver Proof Set was released by the US Mint on August 26, 2008. This is a special version of the proof set which contains 90% silver coins. The set was priced at $44.95 and contained a total of 14 coins. This included all four 2008 Presidential Dollars and 90% silver proof versions of all five 2008 State Quarters.

The coins were packaged in three separate lenses. One lens contained the Presidential Dollars, one contained the State Quarters, and the remaining coins were in a third lens. The sets came with a certificate of authenticity and were packaged in a red colored cardboard box.

All coins carry the "S" mint mark and were minted at the San Francisco Mint. The US Mint has offered silver proof sets to modern coin collectors since 1992. The 90% silver coins include the dime, quarters, and half dollars. Other coins have the same compositions as the regular proof sets.
