2010 Silver Koala

Coin Information
The 2010 Silver Koala is the most recent release in the ongoing silver bullion coin series. The coins have been produced by the Perth Mint in Australia since 2007 following the success of the earlier Silver Kookaburra series. Each year a different image of the Koala is featured on the reverse of the coin.
For 2010, a Koala is depicted sitting on a tree branch eating leaves. The background is plain with inscriptions in the lower portion. The inscriptions indicate the purity of the coin ".999 silver" and the bullion weight. The "P" mint mark for the Perth Mint appears next to the branch. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with inscriptions "Elizabeth II", "Australia", and the legal tender face value of the coin.
The 2010 Australian Silver Koala coins will be available in four different sizes. This will include 1/2 oz, 1 oz, 10 oz, and 1 kilo bullion weights. The bullion coins were released for worldwide availability beginning on September 1, 2009, except for the 1/2 oz. coin, which will be released in March 2010.
