Coin Information:

2010 Yosemite National Park Silver Bullion Coin

Coin Information

Collectors and precious metals investors who have been eagerly awaiting the start of the US Mint's new bullion series will see the release of the 2010 Yellowstone National Park 5 oz. Silver Bullion Coin on December 6, 2010. On the same date, the other four designs for the first year of the program will also be released through the US Mint's authorized purchaser network.

The new series is unique in that coins will carry a bullion weight of 5 troy ounces and rather wide diameter of 3 inches. This over-sized format will provide a larger space to present the designs of the America the Beautiful Quarters. The design from the Yosemite National Park Quarter will be reproduced for the bullion series, presenting a view of "El Capitan", the world's largest monolith of granite.

The Yosemite Silver Bullion Coin will also include incused edge lettering indicating "5.0 ounces .999 fine silver".

A collector version featuring an uncirculated finish and carrying the "P" mint mark is expected to be available directly from the US Mint in the first quarter of 2011.

Maximum mintages have been established at 33,000 for the bullion version of the coin and 27,000 for the collectible uncirculated version. With demand expected to be high, prompt sell outs will likely take place.
